Hello! Today is a very special day, it's Ashley's 1st Birthday! It's hard to believe it's already been a year. The beginning seemed to go so slow and now the last few months have just flown by! Ashley changes everyday!
As of today Ashley is now drinking whole milk. No more formula!!! What a cost savings that will be! Ashley is enjoying all of the new foods she gets to eat. One of her favorite things to eat is cottage cheese. As you can see from the above, it's definitely not the cleanest of foods but she thinks it is delicious. She also loves chicken noodle soup. I think I enjoy watching her eat just as much as she loves to eat. It cracked me up to see her slurping up the noodles.
If you happened to catch tbe t.v. show, Showcase Minnesota today, then you know that this is the picture they displayed on t.v. I submitted her picture a couple of weeks ago and then forgot about it completely until this morning. Unfortunatley I had an appointment at the same time as the show so I didn't even get to see it! No worries though, my girlfriend Jessie captured it on her camera and will be sending me the video soon. Stay tuned!
Ohhhhhh, so cute! Ashley now has 7 teeth and she is working on her 8th, so I figured it was time to teach her to brush her teeth. I usually give her the toothbrush in the morning while I am trying to get her pigtails in...so far the toothbrush has served as a great distraction. This girl can move quick these days and it is getting harder and harder to get her hair pulled back. 
Here's a picture of the birthday girl from this morning. She has been very attached to her blankey these last few days due to her teething. Typically her blankey stays in her crib, but that has not flown this week. She points at it as we walk out of the room and says uhhh, uuhhh, dahhh! Ahhh, at last...finally a warm day...the warmest in 4 months, and long overdue. I wanted to take Ashley outside so that we could throw the ball to Ruby, but I knew she wasn't going to want to sit in the stroller...what should I do. Ah ha! The walker- I'm not sure how we would have lived without this essential piece of baby gear. Ashley just loves it!
In the video you will see that Ashley is crusing right for me with a big smile on her face and then she goes right around me...stops for a few seconds to see if I am close by...checks behind both of her shoulders and then determines she is in the clear and runs down the road...leaving me in her dust.

1) Happy B-Day, little woman! Can't wait for the big party this weekend!!
B) She is too fast in her walker -- Where is her helmet?
3) I don't want to poop in your corn flakes or anything *but* Henry drinks or wastes about a gallon of milk about every four or five days. That equates to about seven gallons a month, 7 X $3.55 = $24.84. This is pretty much exactly the cost of a big thingie of the formula we use that would last about a month. Just sayin'...
But fixin' up a sippie of milk is faster and easier so we have that going for us, which is nice...
D) I have started having Henry collect aluminum cans in the ditches to offset his expenses and start earning his keep. You may want to consider it.

1) Happpy Birthday Ashley!! I knew your mommy would have updates today...you're cute as can be!
2) My corn flakes are completely ruined...I too, was looking forward to the 1 year mark & ditching the formula. Let's do the math: 3 babies would equate to 21 gallons of milk a month, 21 x $3.55 = $74.55...maybe we'll just invest in old Bessy herself. Now that would be organic...
We've decided it'll be cheaper when everyone's eating steaks!! Poor Bessy :(

Happy 1st Birthday Ashley! I love the video. She's a real speed racer - better watch out when her Dad hands her the keys to the Jeep on her 16th. Can't wait to see you guys Saturday!
