Catching up - Wow, lots has changed!

Hello! Sorry it's been a long time again since the last true update. Ashley is doing very well at her new daycare. She has been there three weeks now. It's been a bit of a bumpy road to start, as day 3 she was sent home with a high temp and not feeling well. Oh, and when Matt picked her up from daycare we got the "oh by the way, we do have to tell you she has also been exposed to pink eye! Seriously- she hasn't even been here a full 3 days yet! Here we go! Despite the exposure to the new germs and what not, she has adjusted to her new surroundings, teachers and friends. Daddy seems to have adjusted to the new routine of waking up and getting Ashley dressed, fed and off to daycare. He's amazed at how long the whole process takes, in fact, I think my favorite was when he called me and said- "Babe, we're going to have to streamline this morning routine"
Although life has kept us very busy, we are all doing good. We have even found a few minutes to take an evening boat ride to watch the sunset. The boat is now out of the water and in the garage for the winter- the official sign that summer is nearing the end.
Although Ashley has evil eyes in the picture, the highlight of it is that this was her first drink from a sippy cup. She is still struggling with the cold she picked up at daycare and was having a heck of a time drinking from her bottle and trying to breathe at the same time, so I decided to try the sippy cup. She gave it a few tugs but then got irritated with this method too.

Friday 9/21, Ashley's girlfriend Maddy aka Mad Dog (pictured above) called to see if Ashley wanted to join her at her favorite restaurant, the Dinnerbel, for some fish fry. I was a bit hesitant as to how this would go over being so close to bed time, but Ashley begged to see Maddy so we decided to try it. And, it went great. Ashley did fall asleep in my arms ( a new trick she picked up at daycare since they hold and rock all of the babies before laying them down) but overall, for our first dining experience out as a family, two thumbs up.

Saturday 9/22, Ashley spent the majority of the day with her daddy while I attended my girlfriend Kelly's baby shower. (Kelly is expecting triplets!!) Ashley and her daddy had a great day and daddy was even able to clean out the boat while Ashley took a two hour nap. So, since I was gone most of Saturday, I decided to make it up to Ashley and take her shopping on Sunday. This picture is as we started our shopping adventure at the Tanger outlet mall in North Branch. Oh boy, did we have fun and we found so many cute clothes. Ashley just moved into 6-9. Nearly all of her clothes from birth - 6 mo were gifts and wonderful handme downs from her friends. We actually have bins of clothes through 3T but, she really didn't have much for 6-9 mo that was the right season, so this was my very first time shopping for clothes for her. I had a blast too.

Here's a picture of Ashley in her new Bumbo chair. I learned of these awesome little chairs at Kelly's baby shower and stopped on my way home to by one. Ashley loves it! I love it! It's light and I can carry Ashley and the chair and everything else you have to carry from room to room all in one trip. Seriously- I could be a walking advertisement for this chair. Love it! Can't say it enough.

Friday 9/28, I left work early to take Ashley to the doctor. She is still fighting this cold, but has now developed a horrible cough and was pulling on her ears. When I called the nurse line, the nurse said, it is probably an ear infection. Better to bring her in then end up in the ER over the weekend. Ashley's doctor said her right ear was a bit red but said she would write me the prescription but that I didn't have to fill it unless I thought it was getting worse or if she ran a temp. So anyway, I haven't given her any meds yet- we are hoping she'll kick it. After the doctor, I decided I wanted to sit Ashley is the leaves outside and take a picture. So, I sit her down, back up to take the picture and realize, SHE CAN SIT! Man, when did this happen?! Oh yeah, while i was at work. :o( I tell you, ahh never mind, I could go on and on about all of the things we miss out on while we work and the babys at daycare but, you all already know my pain.

This picture is from Thursday 9/27, Ashley is so excited about sporting her new clothes and shoes from our shopping spree. This was also picture day at daycare. I'm excited to see how the pictures turned out. We should know next week.

Another cute picture. Ah, I forgot to mention earlier that Ashley had her 6 mo check up on 9/14. The stats were: Weight: 16lbs 13 oz (67%) Height: 2' 3.25" (93%) Head Circumference: 45.1cm (97%). 9/14 Matt and I also celebrate our 5 year anniversary. 5 years already!

Ashley's girlfriend Gracie was nice enough to loan her this jumper. Here's a picture of Ashley in it. It's too cute, it even has a tail and has bouncing Tigger music that plays when she moves.
Lastly, not only did I discover this weekend that my little baby can now sit, I also discovered her first tooth popped through today!! This is something I have been checking for on a daily basis hoping that it could explain the runny nose and cold symptoms and low and behold, today, Grandma Terry was holding her and Ashley took a bite of Grandma's hand and Grandma said- when did she get teeth?? WHAT?!! Let me see... and sure enough, it's there, her first tooth.

Henry and Violet were sick after day three of being back at daycare also. It was like that at RFG too. Honestly, Henry was sick more often than not sick. Glad to hear you guys are good. We should get the posse together soon!
